Below are some resources that offer poetry and writing opportunities in our area. 

Inprint offers the Margaret Root Brown Reading Series as well as wonderful semester classes.  Inprint also offers First Friday poetry readings.

Public Poetry offers poetry reading and writing opportunities for the Houston area community.  The website offers connections with all sorts of poetry activities in the Houston area.

Writespace offers open mic events and several workshops.  They also have editors who can work with manuscripts.

Gulf Coast Poets is a sister chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas, but close enough so that some events may entice you.
